Helping Students reach their goals beyond school

Gus has not let the challenge of living with cerebral palsy slow him down.

   Gus 1                    Gus

Dear Friends,

If you had a chance to watch the video on our home page, you were introduced to Gus. Gus has had some amazing opportunities, many of which were provided by UCP WORK, Inc. As you saw in the video, when Gus was just four, UCP WORK provided an unforgettable trip to Florida so he and three other local kids with cerebral palsy could swim with dolphins. With UCP WORK, Inc. groups, Gus has taken trips up and down the California coast and has been to concerts, sporting events and plays. Gus is also a dynamic power wheelchair soccer player. Gus enjoys attending Santa Barbara City College, where he is majoring in Environmental Science, and he is supported on-campus by UCP WORK, Inc. coaches. Gus hopes to one day work in environmental policy, and he is assured that the UCP WORK, Inc. Employment Program will support him along the way. Kudos to Gus for his positive attitude and determination.

Although we receive government funding for some of our programs, many of the programs that Gus has participated in during his life receive no funding from the government. Consequently, we must rely on the generosity of donors to continue providing these services. We are extremely grateful for your consideration of donating to UCP WORK, Inc. In addition to a one-time donation, please consider making a monthly giving pledge. If you would like to know more about how you can support UCP WORK, Inc., contact our office at (805) 566-9000.

In Gratitude,

Kathy Webb
