From 8:30AM until 4:30PM, participants took part in a variety of board games, sports activities, and art projects. Several participants were playing soccer and beanbag toss with Applied Abilities staff. A couple resident artists from Santa Barbara Art Works were painting with watercolors or sketched in the open air. One participant built a Jenga tower at least 2 feet high, while others played dominoes and listened to music. Delicious barbecue chicken and burgers were prepared and served by UCP WORK, Inc. staff. One participant brought several bouquets of flowers and potted herbs, in which he handed out to everyone as gifts. Overall, it was a special day, with lots of smiles and laughter, and people participating in a variety of helpful and enjoyable ways. We are looking forward to next year!
