A Positive Boost During 2020 Pandemic with Staff Incentives, PPE, and Delivered Groceries

Together, UCP WORK, Inc. and the community of people with disabilities are feeling the tremendous impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

At UCP WORK, Inc., our top priority continues to be the health and safety of our constituents.

Many of the people we support need increased assistance to “self-isolate” and are more likely to have underlying health conditions, therefore, our workforce of direct support staff continue to provide critical home-based support to assist with daily self-care, job coaching, and enrichments. Our agency has distributed a large order of cloth face masks, thanks to the Coastal Quilters Guild, and other personal protective equipment to ensure that people with disabilities receive the supports they are entitled to and to ensure that our staff are fully trained to facilitate services in the most safe and effective way, according to universal precautions

“We are going through a period of time like no other in history.  Our daily routines have changed in an instant and yet, all of our incredible and amazing staff, have remained compassionate and strong during these difficult and uncertain times,” states Executive Director, Judy Linares.

UCP WORK, Inc. leadership appreciates the hard work and dedication of direct support staff and acknowledge that its our employees that make the agency an organization that values the people we serve. To show appreciation for this special team of essential workers, UCP WORK, Inc. is implementing the following “COVID-19 Relief” staff incentives:

  1. Hero Pay -
All active direct support staff will receive a bi-weekly bonus (Hero Pay) that is based on the number of hours worked in the two-week pay period.

  2. Insurance Assistance -
All Full-Time non-supervisory employees (Active and those staff on COVID-19 related leave of absences) that are enrolled in the UCP WORK, Inc. medical benefits plan will receive a waiver on paying their employee premiums. UCP WORK, Inc. will cover the entire portion of the medical coverage.
